This ceramic teapot has a tea strainer built-in, and it's easy to maintain.

This teapot makes it easy to brew delicious Japanese teas.
The teapot is shaped in such a way that tea leaves could spread evenly.
When pouring, pouring the tea to the last drop is
easier to do because of its shape.
In addition, because the tea strainer is integrated, the tea leaves are easy to discard.

Fun fact: each of the strainer holes is shaped by the hands of an artisan.

【What is Tokoname ware?】

Tokoname [toh-koh-nah-meh] ware has a history of 1,000 years since the late Heian period and is one of the six pottery kilns in Japan. On June 11, 1976, Tokoname ware became designated as a traditional craft item by the country.

Product details

One of the feature techniques of Tokoname is a technique which brings out the red color of an iron rich raw material.

The iron oxides contained in the clay reacts with the iron oxide when the tea is brewed.
The bitterness and astringency gets moderately removed when this happens and the taste of tea becomes more mellow.
Each teapot is handmade.
