A kenzan, also known as a "frog" in English, is a great item for ikebana/flower arrangements. Use it to fix flower stems into place. Note that the large-sized (71mm) round frog has rubber on base; the other variants do not. This helps to keep it in place.

Product details

Check out this Ikebana workshop we held during Bow Zen 2020.

In English, a Kenzan is called a “frog” and it’s a useful tool to arrange flowers. It’s a metal, circular base that has multiple needles sticking out, which keeps the flowers in place.

These Japanese crafted kenzans will last a lifetime. The needles are 3/8 inches tall to hold your flower arrangement steady and in place!

■Made in Japan
■Material: Brass

How to use

Place Kenzan (frog) in any containers, vases or on plates to arrange the flowers, and pour water to cover the kenzan.
*Needles are very sharp. Please be careful using them!
